Kardena smartwatches – Health watches with ECG, SOS, and GPS
Kardena does not build all-round smartwatches in the style of an Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy. The difference lies in the focus: less fitness focus, more health metrics. The models are aimed at people who want to observe heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, or blood pressure trends over weeks – or who need an SOS button for emergencies. The menu navigation, app, and instructions are clear, and the display is intentionally kept large.
Kardena CARE Pro 6
ECG, AI health analysis, and care function for up to 5 trusted persons. Two case shapes, about one week of battery life, IP67. For everyone who wants to document values and involve relatives.
Which smartwatch suits you? – four models in comparison
All four share the basics: 24/7 heart rate, SpO₂, sleep analysis, German menu. After that, they differ significantly – especially in terms of ECG, care functions, and GPS. Those who know the difference don't buy the most expensive model, but the right one.
Both record heart rate, SpO₂, and blood pressure trend values, creating an AI history profile over weeks. The 1-channel ECG provides a recording in about 30 seconds – without electrodes, without a chest strap, exportable as a PDF for your next doctor's visit. The values are for orientation, not diagnosis. If you want the same readings for less and can do without the AI history analysis, take a look at the CARE Pro 4 Plus. The CARE GPS is ruled out here: no ECG, no blood pressure.
The Pro 6 shares health data with up to 5 trusted persons upon request; the Pro 5 with up to 3. With the CARE GPS, only 1 contact can be stored. If you want to involve your daughter, son, and your neighbour, the Pro 6 is the way to go. Important for expectations: The SOS function works on all four models via the Bluetooth connection to the smartphone. Those looking for a device with its own SIM card and automatic fall detection will find that among the SOS watches with fall detection.
The built-in dual-band GPS (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou) records routes even if your smartphone stays at home. A barometric altimeter, magnetic compass, and over 170 sports modes are included at no extra cost. The casing is protected according to IP69K, 5 ATM, and IK07 – chlorine- and saltwater resistant, shock-proof. The battery lasts 6 to 18 days, up to 30 in standby. The price for this is specific: no ECG, no blood pressure values, only one emergency contact. If you measure your ECG in the morning and go hiking in the afternoon, you are better served by the Pro 5 or Pro 6, using connected GPS via your smartphone.
The CARE Pro 4 Plus is the most affordable model with ECG and still includes blood pressure trend values, SpO₂, HRV, sleep analysis, an SOS button, and Bluetooth telephony. IP68 and 3 ATM, 3 to 8 days of battery life, same display sizes as the Pro 5. What it lacks is the AI history analysis of the Pro 5 and Pro 6 generation and the newer sensor generation. For those who want ECG and blood pressure history without needing the latest high-end features, this is the most sensible entry in the range.
The latest sensor generation with the greatest reach for the care function.
Largest display in the comparison, ECG and AI analysis at a mid-range price.
Outdoor model: Barometer, compass, 170+ sports modes, Strava connection.
The most affordable way to ECG and blood pressure history. Two case shapes, price per variant.

What is a smartwatch – and what distinguishes a health watch?
A smartwatch shows the time, notifications, and counts steps. Almost any device under 30 euros can do that. A health watch measures heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and sleep phases – and stores the values over weeks, so that trends become visible at all. The difference lies less in the technology than in what happens with the data: A single ECG is a snapshot. Twenty ECGs over two months are a pattern.
The CARE models lie between both worlds. They show WhatsApp messages and control music, but that is not their core purpose. If you are looking for a watch that primarily documents heart health and informs relatives in an emergency, this is the right place. If you mainly want to track workouts, take a look at the heart rate watches.
Who are Kardena smartwatches suitable for?
People who want to monitor fluctuations in blood pressure or heart rhythm need a watch that records these values automatically – not just when they remember to check. The CARE Pro 4 Plus, Pro 5, and Pro 6 do this in the background. The difference lies in the analysis: the Pro 5 and Pro 6 also create an AI trend profile, while the Pro 4 Plus displays the values and trends in the app without this classification.
Active people over 55 who enjoy hiking or Nordic walking will get more out of the CARE GPS. Hardware GPS tracks the route, the altimeter shows the profile, and the battery lasts even on multi-day trips. It lacks an ECG – a trade-off one should be aware of in advance.
Relatives looking to equip an elderly parent should look at the care function first, not the price. If two children and a neighbour need to be notified, the Pro 5 is sufficient with three contacts. For more, you need the Pro 6. And if the watch needs to work independently of a smartphone in an emergency, none of these four models is the right choice – in that case, the solution is the SOS watches with their own SIM card.
