Our connected products collect technical measurements and usage data when used. This data is required to provide the functions of the devices and apps. Below, we transparently inform you about the product lines, the apps used for each, the typical types of data, and your rights under the EU Data Act and the GDPR.

Your Rights Regarding Product Data

  • You can request access to the data generated when using our connected products that is available to us without disproportionate effort.
  • You will receive this data free of charge in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, such as CSV or JSON.
  • Upon request, we will transmit this data on your behalf to a third party of your choice, provided this is legally permissible and technically reasonable.
  • Your rights under the GDPR, such as the right to information, rectification, erasure, and restriction of processing, remain unaffected.

Storage and Transmission of Data

The devices generally first store measurements locally on the device. When connected to the respective app, the data is transferred to the connected end device and, depending on the app concept, may be stored on the servers of the app provider or their service provider.

The specific storage duration, the exact storage location, and the underlying legal basis are set out in the privacy policy of the respective app provider. Please read these notices carefully before using the app.

Access, Export, and Erasure of Your Data

Where the respective app provides an export function, you can export your data yourself in a commonly used format. In addition, you can request information at any time from Kardena about the data generated when using our products that is available to us without disproportionate effort.

Please write us an email at service@kardena.de stating the product used, the app used, your email address, and, if possible, a screenshot of the app's home screen. We will make the available data available to you in a machine-readable format and assist you in exercising your rights.
