Our connected products record technical measurements and usage data during operation. This data is required to provide the functions of the devices and apps. Below, we provide you with transparent information about the product ranges, the apps used for each, the typical data types, and your rights under the EU Data Act and the GDPR.

Your rights regarding product data

  • Access to product data You can request access to the data generated through the use of our connected products that is available to us without disproportionate effort.
  • Free export You will receive this data free of charge in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, for example CSV or JSON.
  • Transfer to third parties Upon request, we will transfer this data on your behalf to a third party designated by you, insofar as this is legally permissible and technically feasible.
  • Your GDPR rights Rights under the GDPR, such as the right to information, rectification, deletion, and restriction of processing, remain unaffected by this.

Storage and transfer of data

Devices generally store measurements locally on the device first. When connected to the respective app, the data is transferred to the connected terminal device and, depending on the app concept, may be stored on the servers of the app providers or their service providers.

The specific storage duration, the exact storage location, and the underlying legal basis can be found in the privacy policy of the respective app provider. Please read this information carefully before using the app.

Access, export, and deletion of your data

Insofar as the respective app provides an export function, you can export your data yourself in a common format. Additionally, you can request information from Kardena at any time regarding the data generated through the use of our products that is available to us without disproportionate effort.

For this purpose, please send us an email at service@kardena.de indicating the product used, the app used, your email address, and, if possible, a screenshot of the app home screen. We will provide you with the available data in a machine-readable format and support you in exercising your rights.

Note: For faster processing, it is helpful if you also include the model name in your email.
